Currently, the acceleration of digitization or business digital transformation that we have experienced in recent years and especially during the pandemic (which has gone from being a forced pilot to a strategy) and which has allowed us to generate great changes (physical presence had to be replaced by teleworking) and technological trends where large volumes of data must be managed that contain extremely important information for decision-making in different areas, such as; health, safety, environment and sustainability, quality, reliability, cost control, productivity improvements, etc. In the mining industry, the incorporation of different technologies is essential to improve and optimize the different processes, some of which stand out for being extremely complex. There are various software, all with their particular advantages and disadvantages, but with a remarkable level of development during the last 20 years, some covering from geology areas to operational control of a mine in production, considering geological modeling, estimation of resources, optimization and design-definition of reserves and generation of extraction plans for the long, medium and short term. Given this, the integration of many process control systems that interact in real time and that some of them use communication tools, perception (sensors), networks, positioning (GPS), computing and mathematics (models) are being applied. These applications or software use a series of powerful mathematical algorithms that are fed by millions of data and that it is also necessary to combine and integrate, but in practice there are no technological interoperability standards for data formats, security, information transfer, etc. . That they facilitate technological compatibility and in this way lower the entry barriers to local technological developments and with this avoid unnecessary work and costs that suppliers must incur to become compatible with other complementary technologies and of great value to the mining industry. In this, software provider companies together with mining clients should develop guides or standards to facilitate interoperability, connect systems and break down organizational silos.
